Tooth fillings coloured to look like a natural tooth are known as composite fillings. These are made of a plastic resin, are strong, durable, and make for a very natural looking smile. Composite resin fillings are applied in thin layers, and slowly built up to form the complete filling. A bright dental light will harden each layer before the next is applied.
Once your filling is completed, your dentist will use a special paper, articulating paper, to adjust the height of your dental filling and check that the bite remains correct. Your tooth is then polished.

These are taken to provide a more detailed view of any areas of concern revealing hidden tooth decay
These reveal any other hidden conditions and abnormalities, un-erupted teeth, such as wisdom teeth
Revealing the pathology of the jaw and any bone and tooth loss.

Root canal treatment is the removal of the tooth’s nerve, a small, thread-like tissue in the center of the tooth.
Once the nerve is infected or dead if left untreated, pus can build up at the root tip in the jawbone, forming an abscess.

An abscess can destroy the bone surrounding the tooth and cause pain.
Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that replaces a tooth’s damaged or infected nerve.

Once the damaged, diseased or dead nerve is removed, the remaining space known as the canal is cleaned, shaped and filled.
This procedure seals off the root canal.

Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully cup over the portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line. Crowns can be made out of porcelain (ceramic material), gold (metal alloys) or a combination of both. Porcelain is strong and can be made to match the colour of the natural teeth. It is resistant to staining and can be cleaned if it becomes stained. Metal alloy is used for its strength, hardness and durability. It is especially useful for molars, which must withstand the forces of grinding and crushing.

Crowns are used to repair badly decayed, broken, discoloured, or misaligned teeth. Crowns completely cover teeth, restoring them to their natural size, shape and function. An artificial crown is often the best way to save a tooth and strengthen it. While you are waiting for your permanent crown to be fabricated, your dentist will provide you with a temporary one to wear. If tooth is severely decayed, or little tooth structure remains, it may be necessary to place a metal post into the tooth to support the crown. If this is the case, root canal therapy will be performed. Your dentist can recommend which type of restoration is best for your particular situation.

A dental bridge is a device used to fill the space where a tooth or multiply teeth have fallen out or even been removed. They consist of an artificial tooth anchored to the adjacent natural teeth. Bridges are strong and durable replacements for natural teeth.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing natural teeth. Implants and their attached crowns closely mimic the look and function of real teeth. They can make an attractive alternative to dentures and bridges. They are made from medically pure titanium which is very strong. Watch Our Dental Implants Video Here
